Mevlan Mecid began his musical studies at the age of six and later attended Chetham’s School of Music in the United Kingdom. He completed his undergraduate studies at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama in London and obtained his master’s degree from Yale University, where he studied with Hyo Kang. Mevlan recently earned his Doctor of Musical Arts degree from the University of North Texas, where he studied under Julia Bushkova. During his studies, he also participated in festivals including Festival MusicAlp, Astona International, and Musica Mundi.

He has appeared as a soloist with the Bilkent Symphony Orchestra, Azerbaijan National Symphony Orchestra, Presidential Symphony Orchestra of Turkey, and Bursa State Symphony Orchestra. Mevlan was a prizewinner at the Gülden Turalı, Remember Enescu, and Queen Sophia Charlotte violin competitions and was a recipient of the Eczacıbaşı Music Award.

As well as being a passionate teacher, Mevlan is also an orchestral musician. He has had the privilege of performing with renowned conductors, including Sir Simon Rattle, Bernard Haitink, and Marin Alsop. He has been a member of the Plano Symphony Orchestra, Irving Symphony Orchestra, and Baton Rouge Symphony Orchestra and continues to perform regularly.
