Mevlan began his musical studies at the age of 6 and later attended the Chetham's School of Music in the UK. He completed his undergraduate studies in London at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama and obtained his master's degree in the USA at Yale University, studying with Hyo Kang. Mevlan is currently pursuing his doctoral studies at the University of North Texas with Julia Bushkova.
During his studies, he attended some of the finest European festivals, such as Festival MusicAlp, Astona International, and Musica Mundi.
He appeared as a soloist with the Bilkent Symphony, Azerbaijan National, Presidential Symphony of Turkey, and Bursa Symphony orchestras. Mevlan was a prizewinner at the Gulden Turali, Remember Enescu, and Queen Sophia Charlotte violin competitions, and was a recipient of the Eczacibasi Music Award. As well as being a passionate teacher, Mevlan is also an orchestral musician. He had the privilege of performing with renowned conductors, including Sir Simon Rattle, Bernard Haitink, and Marin Alsop. He has been a member of the Plano Symphony and Irving Symphony orchestras and can be seen performing regularly across North Texas.
